Module Introduction The full name of CF is CompactFlash, which is the standard Flash Card. It is firstly released by Sandisk in 1994. The CompactFlash Technology is a kind of Technology, which is pushed out by the CFA Institute and compatible with the ATA Interface Standard of PC. It can be applied in the different Flash Cards for storing data, and now it is widely used as the Memory Card for Digital Camera, etc.. The CF card consists of two parts, Controller and I/O Module(s). The Controller is used to realize the connection with the Host and control the transmission in the Flash Module, and the I/O Module(s) is/are used to store information. There are three modes for the storage of the CF card, which are PC Card Memory Mode, PC Card I/O Mode and True IDE Mode. Thereinto, the True IDE Mode is compatible with the ATA Standard, and it needs the least signals to communicate with the Host. In this Mode, the CF card can realize the data transmission by the Write/Read operations for the different Registers. Thereinto, there are seven channels, CS1, CS0, A0-A2, DMARQ and DMACK, used for selecting Registers; the IORD, IOWR and IORDY is the Control Channels for Write/Read; the D0-D15 are the Data Channels.
