Module Introduction The HDA is the abbreviation of High Definition Audio, the original name is Azalia; it is the new-generation audio specification which is put out by the Intel and Dolby. At present, it is adopts by the South Bridge of ICH6 Series in the chipsets of the Intel 915/925 Series. The HDA and AC97 have the same places , but HDA can't be compatible with the AC97 Standard; it provides the new connecting Bus on the basis of AC97, and support the high-quality audio and more functions; and also the HDA has some special characteristics, such as large bandwidth of the Data Transmission, high precise Audio Replay, low exhausted space of CPU, universal low-level Drives and so on.
